Theater: the jubilant mezzé of Julie Ferrier

The actress leads with energy a generous and absurd show at the Théâtre de l’Atelier in Paris.
On the stage of the Atelier de l’Atelier in Paris, Julie Ferrier and her acolytes blow a wind of freedom and invite the public to a salutary letting go. What madness that cabaret foutraque in which all disciplines (dance, singing, mime, circus, dressage …) are met and perfectly mastered! As a director and leader of this small crazy troop, the actress confirms her talent for disguise and travesty.

Five years later In May it is Ferrier, ah the Gaiety! – A foretaste of the eclecticism and inventiveness of this actress who studied at the Fratellini Circus School and then at the Jacques-Lecoq International School of Theater – Julie Ferrier refined and punctuated her show. Created in 2017 at the Théâtre de la Madeleine, In my place, you Ferrier what? offers a jubilant scenic bazaar. We find the characters of Martha, director of fashion show totally liberated, but also the irresistible cagole who, perched on his rollers, thinks he’s an American. With alternating Massimiliano Bensilto, Mikaël Fau, Arnaud Maillard, Matthieu Pillard and Kova Rea, Julie Ferrier is particularly well-rounded.

Precision and sincerity
All have the art of metamorphosis. Mickaël Fau plays a memorable domestic robot, Kova Rea is irresistible in his French cover of Prince’s “Violet Rain”, and Matthieu Pillard embodies a magnificent naïve to assist the playful and touching cheerleader played by Julie Ferrier. Generous and absurd, the show begins in the street where the actress and her “assistant” try, with a touching awkwardness, to manage the spectators who wait in the queue.
