KABUL: The attack on mortar attack on Hamid Karzai, 3 people killed
Unidentified assailants fired a mortar bomb in a jirga in the Afghan capital Kabul, killing 3 people and injuring 22.
In addition to many presidential candidates in the event, former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah were also present.
At the time the mortar was fired, Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah was speaking on stage. He was held on the basis of the leader of Hizb-e-Wahid-e-Islami Islamist leader Qaida Abdul Ali Mazari.
Three people were killed and 22 wounded in the attack on Friday. According to Hanif Atmar, a presidential candidate, eight of them were their guards. Another presidential candidate Abdul Latif is also among the injured.
