98 people killed by poisonous alcohol in Indian state of Assam
New Delhi: At least 98 people were killed by poisonous alcohol in Indian state of Assam.
According to Indian media, poisonous alcohol-related deaths were reported in Jurat and Golah districts of Assam.
According to the media report, poisonous wine was prepared from Methyl Alcohol.
According to the Indian authorities, the number of people killed since the death of 98 is as many as 200 people suffering from hospitals are undergoing treatment.
People with alcohol say that the smell of wine was like diesel and looked like milk.
AIG Assam says more than a dozen people have been arrested for investigation.
It was believed that 100 people were killed by poisonous sweets in the Indian state of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh two weeks ago.
